DESCRIPTION:
The Morton Theatre Corporation invites Athens to a free screening of The Woman King. This historical action drama set in the early 19th-century tells the story of an all-female group of warriors named the Agojie who protect the African nation of Dahomey. EGOT winner Viola Davis stars as General Nanisca, who must lead her warriors against enemies both local and foreign while coming face-to-face with her personal demons as well. The screening is free and open to the public and concessions will be available for sale.
