DESCRIPTION:
Join us for this unique documentary theatre performance and “glimpse into baseball legend Jackie Robinson’s life during a bygone era of separate and unequal locker rooms, whites-only hotels and restaurant back doors. Witness the hopeless humiliation of a star player showered with adulation on the field– but a second-hand citizen outside the stadium. Meet compatriots fighting the same battles between end zones, inside the ring, around the track.”
Prepare for your mind to be awakened and your heart opened by Mike Wiley's expansive, one-man performance of these chilling historic events. Seamlessly transforming himself into a vast array of compelling characters, Mike's ability to engage people of all ages in learning about and from our shared history is one of a kind. Audience members become participants as Mr. Wiley's on-stage invitations and post-show talkbacks create an atmosphere of collective learning and an opportunity for community healing.
MTC can't wait for our community to be enriched by this spectacular event. Don't miss your chance to witness Mr. Wiley's incredible performance of Jackie Robinson, and be a part of this important learning experience!
