A young girl’s passion for baseball comes to life in Catching the Moon: The Story of a Young Girl’s Baseball Dream, a spirited family musical based on the beloved children’s book by Crystal Hubbard and adapted for the stage by Tyrone L. Robinson.
Follow the remarkable true story of Marcenia Lyle, who would become Toni Stone, as she pursues America’s pastime and challenges the barriers standing in her way. Stone went on to become the first woman to play regularly on a men’s professional baseball team in a major professional league, joining the Indianapolis Clowns of the Negro American League in 1953.
Filled with heart, determination, and a blues-infused score, Catching the Moon brings this groundbreaking story to the stage in an engaging and educational family musical for audiences of all ages.
